Two Suspects Arrested in Armed Robbery on Havana Place

The NOPD has arrested Brandon Morgan (DOB: 01-03-1984) and Jeremy Davis (DOB: 08-08-1997) in connection with an armed robbery with a gun that occurred in the 3800 block of Havana Place on October 13, 2017.

At about 12:36 p.m., Third District detectives responded to a call of an armed robbery with a gun at the location. In speaking with the victim, detectives learned that she was entering her vehicle parked in her neighbor’s driveway when she was approached by two unknown black males. The subjects then reportedly each produced handguns and yelled at the victim to get on the ground. As one of the suspects allegedly attempted to take the victim’s purse, the victim attempted to back away. The second male then reportedly grabbed the victim by the hair and threw her to the ground, before the first male picked up the purse. The two subjects then reportedly fled in to a nearby backyard. The victim’s son then reportedly pursued the victims into a backyard in the 3700 block of Virgil Street, where the suspects allegedly fired shots at him. The son, who was armed, told police he returned fire and possibly struck the victim. The son was not injured in the incident.

Third District officers arrived on the scene and set up a perimeter in the area, apprehending the subjects – identified as Morgan and Davis – a short time later. The subjects were found to be wearing dark clothing and masks, believed to be worn in an attempt to conceal their identities. Davis was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries, including gunshot wounds to his right leg and left foot. Upon release from the hospital, Davis was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for armed robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm. Morgan was also arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm.
