Suspects Arrested in Shooting on Gravier Street

The NOPD has arrested Stephen Turner (DOB: 08-24-1985) and Parish Favors (DOB: 09-02-1965) in connection with a shooting that occurred on October 4, 2017 in the 500 block of Gravier Street.

At approximately 9 p.m., Turner, Favors and a female acquaintance were located inside of a bar in the area. At some point in the evening, a verbal altercation occurred between the female and Favors, who then allegedly pushed the female off of a bar stool and onto the floor. Turner reportedly slapped Favors in the face in retaliation.

As the female victim and Turner exited the bar and walked to Turner's vehicle, Favors allegedly followed the two and punched the female victim in the face. A physical altercation then reportedly ensued between Turner and Favors. Turner then allegedly retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and fired at Favors, who attempted to flee the scene on foot. The female victim exited the vehicle and fled on foot, before Turner reportedly entered his vehicle and drove away from the scene.

As he fled the scene, Turner reportedly contacted police to advise them of the incident. Favors was later transported to an area hospital for treatment of two gunshot wounds to his leg. Turner traveled to the Eighth District station and turned himself in to police, while Favors was transported to the Eighth District station upon release from the hospital.

Turner, pictured above at left, was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated second degree battery and illegal use of a weapon.

Favors, pictured above at right, was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for domestic abuse battery and simple battery.
