Suspect Wanted in Attempted Homicide on Belfast Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Mario Steptor (DOB: 11-28-1959) in connection with an attempted homicide that occurred on October 1, 2017 in the 9300 block of Belfast Street.

At about 8:22 p.m., the victims were sitting on a vehicle parked outside of the perpetrator’s residence in the area. A verbal altercation then reportedly ensued, at which time the perpetrator then allegedly retrieved a gun and chased the victims down the street while shooting at them.

Through the course of the investigation, officers discovered that both female victims did suffer minor injuries in this incident, but neither victim sustained any gunshot wounds during the incident.

As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives were able to develop Steptor as the perpetrator.

When located, Steptor will be arrested on two counts of attempted homicide and one count of aggravated criminal damage to property in connection with this incident.
