The NOPD Eighth District is searching for Katie Underwood (DOB: 08-05-85) after she allegedly filed a false police report about being kidnapped in the 1000 block of Toulouse Street.
The incident was reported on October 4, 2017. At around 1:04 a.m., Eighth District officers responded to the area after receiving a call of an attempted kidnapping. Underwood told officers she was in a verbal altercation with her boyfriend and walked away. During that time, she reported to police that she was forced into a van by three unknown male subjects.
Through the course of the investigation including the review of surveillance video, detectives discovered that evidence presented did not support the victim’s claims.
Underwood will be arrested for municipal charge 54-445 which includes filing a false police report.
