Surveillance Video Captures Suspect Wanted for Armed Robbery

The NOPD Fifth District is asking for the public's assistance in locating and identifying an unknown male suspect seen entering and robbing Metro PCS cellular store located in the 1600 block of Franklin Avenue. 

The incident happened on October 6, 2017.  At about 3:16 p.m., the store clerks were at the front register when an unknown black male entered the business armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun. The perpetrator then demanded money. The store clerks handed over cash from the register, and the suspect fled southbound on Franklin Avenue then eastbound on North Claiborne Avenue and then in an unknown direction.

The suspect was seen wearing with a dark-blue hooded sweatshirt with the words St. Patrick Baseball Irish, brown pants, burgundy andwhite van sneakers with a clear latex glove on his left hand. He is described as being about between 5’10” to 6’00”, slim build and around 25 to 30 years of age.
