Suspect Wanted for Armed Robbery at Dollar General

The NOPD is searching for an unknown armed male who robbed the Dollar General on Poland Avenue on Tuesday (Oct. 4).

Surveillance video captured the suspect entering the store in the 1100 block of Poland Avenue just before 1 p.m. The suspect then entered the line to purchase a drink. As the cashier handed the suspect his change, he then asked for the money in the register and lifted his shirt to display a gun on his waistband. The store cashier complied and placed the money in a store bag. The subject was then seen running down Poland Avenue toward Marais Street then in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early to late 30s. He was seen wearing a royal blue shirt, blue jean shorts, dark-colored sunglasses and a black cap with a beige towel underneath it.
