NOPD Investigating Homicide on Poydras Street

NOPD Investigating Homicide on Poydras Street

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (Oct. 26)  in the 2600 block of Poydras Street.

At around 1:44 p.m., First District officers received a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. When officers arrived, they observed a male victim in his early 20s suffering from gunshot wounds inside of an apartment. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and no further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased victim and official cause of death.
