NOPD is investigating a homicide that happened this afternoon (Oct. 20) at Florida and Charbonnet streets.
A little after noon NOPD officers responded to a call of an unknown male lying in the street on Florida. Upon arrival they found an unresponsive black male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members told investigators that the victim was abducted nearby by someone driving a compact car that was dark in color. Witnesses stated they saw the car driving erratically along Florida Avenue then saw the man’s body dumped into the street. The vehicle fled the scene.
