NOPD Arrests Woman Who Burglarized Vehicle on St. Claude Avenue

NOPD Fifth District officers arrested Rosemary Jarreau (DOB: 04-28-1959) over the weekend after she admitted to burglarizing a vehicle in the 3300 block of St. Claude Avenue.

The victim told police she parked and locked her vehicle in the area around midnight on October 2. The next morning, the victim said she received a text message from her bank inquiring about pending purchases from her account. She then went to her vehicle and found both doors unlocked and her glove compartment empty.

Responding officers reviewed video footage from an area business where the victim’s credit card was reportedly used and identified Jarreau as the suspect. Officers relocated to Jarreau’s residence and placed her under arrest. Jarreau later admitted to committing the burglary.

Jarreau, pictured below, was booked into Central Lockup on charges of simple burglary of a vehicle and illegal possession of stolen things.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Fifth District detectives at 504-658-6050. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
