Experienced Grant Manager Joins NOPD

The NOPD has hired an experienced grant manager to lead the department's efforts to obtain and manage local, state and federal grants.

Marjory “Maggie” Patterson will serve as the department’s new Grant Manager. In this role, Marjory will oversee a staff of four program grant managers who are responsible for locating and identifying local, state and federal grants and writing and administering all active grants. The Grant Administrative Unit is also responsible for managing grant money issued to the NOPD and ensuring daily compliance with all grants.

Patterson most recently served as the Statistical Analysis Center Director and Grants Manager at the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement where she aggressively pursued funding opportunities for the State. Prior to that, Patterson was the Grants Manager for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon for 12 years. She served as the Law Enforcement coordinator for regional federal and state funded projects and was integral in the procedural development for the distribution of regional funding. Patterson received her undergraduate degree and a Master of Art’s in Sociology from Tulane University.

Patterson is one of dozens of civilian hires brought on as part of Superintendent Michael Harrison’s commitment to hire highly-skilled civilian professionals to manage administrative functions of the department.
