The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of November 1, 2023, in the 7000 block of Lawrence Road and left an adult male victim dead.
At about 11:14 p.m. on November 1, NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shot person at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later declared deceased.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
