The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (November 12, 2023) in the 14000 block of Chef Menteur Highway that left one person dead.

At about 5:50p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shot person at the location. Upon arrival, officers learned the victim, a 25-year-old male, had been transported to a local hospital by private conveyance.  He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.

Homicide Detective Jameson Diesburg is in charge of the ongoing investigation.
