NOPD Investigating Homicide in First District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (November 22, 2023) in the 300 block of South Norman C. Francis Parkway that left one person dead.

At about 9:50 a.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of a subject down at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was found to have sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims and official causes of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
