NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (November 25, 2019) at the intersection of North Miro and Monticello streets.

At about 1:20 p.m., the NOPD received a call of shots fired at the intersection of North Miro and Alabo streets. NOPD Fifth District officers patrolling in the area were flagged down near the interesting of North Miro and Monticello streets, where officers discovered an unresponsive male victim lying in the road and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
