NOPD Seeking Suspect in Criminal Damage to Law Enforcement Vehicles in Eighth District

The NOPD is seeking to identify and locate an individual suspected of damaging three law enforcement vehicles in the Eighth District on October 31, 2018.

At about 2:46 p.m., the pictured subject was walking in the 400 block of Royal Street towards St. Louis Street when he allegedly produced a knife from his front left pocket and punctured the rear passenger-side tire of a marked NOPD vehicle. The subject then placed the knife in the same pocket and continued to walk towards St. Louis Street. The subject again pulled the knife out of his front left pocket and punctured the front passenger-side tire of a second marked NOPD vehicle. The subject put the knife back into his front left pocket and fled the scene on foot. The subject was last observed running towards the river in the 600 block of St. Louis Street.

The subject is also believed to have punctured the tire of a marked Louisiana State Police unit as well.

Anyone with information on this individual is asked to contact NOPD Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
