NOPD Searches for Second Accused Perpetrator in Hayne Boulevard Homicide

The NOPD is searching for a suspect believed to be the perpetrator in a Seventh District homicide.

On Tuesday, September 18, 2018 around 1:20 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at a gas station in the 7200 block of Hayne Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 58-year-old adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the location. The victim died at the scene.

During the course of the investigation, Frank Sams, Jr. (DOB 06-25-1993), was identified as one of the perpetrators and a warrant for his arrest on a charged of second degree murder was issued.

Farnell Jackson, Jr. (B/M DOB: 10-21-1999) was previously arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with this incident. Jackson turned himself in at the NOPD Fourth District station on September 19, 2018 after seeing photos of himself published in several local media reports.
