Suspect Wanted for Armed Robbery at Knife-Point

Suspect Wanted for Armed Robbery at Knife-Point

The NOPD is searching for a unknown male subject after he posed as a female passenger and robbed a cab driver at knife-point earlier today (Nov.6). 

At about 3:57 a.m., the victim was phoned by his dispatcher to pick up a female passenger by the name of “Bella” from Brother’s gas station in the 3600 block of General DeGaulle Drive. Upon arrival to Brother’s, the female advised the victim to drive to the intersection of Vespasian and Cypress Acres. The female then instructed the victim to pull over in the 3500 block of Vespasian Street. As he pulled over, the perpetrator grabbed the victim around the neck, placed a knife to his throat and demanded his money. The victim then removed $60.00 from his left front pocket and gave it to the suspect.

The victim advised he then realized the female may have been a man dressed as a woman. The victim described the victim as a black male standing at 6’0" tall, 200 pounds with a short haircut.

The male subject then exited the cab running back to Cypress Acres making a left turn then ran through an opening in an iron fence into an apartment complex then unknown.
