It was an emotional night for the NOPD and members of the community Thursday (Nov. 3) as the Abramson Sci Academy Marching Commodores Band dedicated its halftime performance in honor of fallen NOPD Officer Natasha Hunter.
The band took the field, along with members of Hunter's family, at halftime during the Sci Academy and Eleanor McMain Secondary School football game at Joe W. Brown Park.
Officer Hunter was an 11-year veteran of the NOPD who died from injuries sustained in the line of duty on June 7, 2016.
She was a 2001 graduate of Marion Abramson High School.
