NOPD Searching for Suspect in South Claiborne Armed Robberies

The NOPD has obtained a photo and video of a suspect wanted for robbing and attempted to rob establishments along South Claiborne yesterday (Nov. 17).

Shortly before 2 p.m. an unknown black male walked up to the window of Rally’s in the 2200 block of South Claiborne Avenue. He showed the cashier a gun and demanded cash. The employee complied and the victim fled the scene.

A little after 7 p.m. the same suspect attempted to rob the Diamond Beauty at 2101 South Claiborne Avenue, however the employee told the suspect she was unable to open the register. A few minutes later the suspect reportedly entered the It’s Fashion Store at 2841 South Claiborne Avenue and demanded cash from the register. The employee complied and the suspect fled.

A photo of the suspect was pulled from this surveillance video.
