The NOPD Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of an unidentified male victim about 28-years-old. The incident was reported on November 3, 2016, around 10:50 p.m., in the 14000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.
Officers were called out to investigate a call of a man down. Upon arrival Seventh District officers found the unresponsive victim lying in the right shoulder lane of the highway suffering from trauma and multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
The investigation is on-going and detectives are investigating to determine a motive and a suspect(s) in the incident.

The Coroner's office will release the identity of the victim once his family is notified.
