The NOPD is requesting assistance from the public in locating two persons of interests for questioning in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on April 13, 2023, in the 2400 block of North Roman Street.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives have identified Derick Gettridge (pictured at left, black male, DOB: 09-07-1995) and Vartasia Smith (pictured at right, black female, DOB: 12-14-2001) as persons of interest in this case. Neither individual is currently wanted on criminal charges in this investigation. However, detectives feel that each has knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to interview them.
