Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide Section are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in connection with the Homicide that occurred on April 28, 2023, in the 3800 block of Canal Street.

According to investigators, First District officers responded to a call of shooting and upon their arrival, the officers located a man and woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to their bodies. The man was pronounced dead on scene and the woman was transported to a local hospital.

Throughout the course of the investigation, Homicide detectives obtained surveillance video from the surrounding area and developed an individual seen on video walking in the area as a person of interest.

This individual is not sought on criminal charges at this time, however, detectives feel that they may have knowledge or information vital to the investigation and wish to interview him.
