NOPD Seeking Suspect in Shooting Investigation

The NOPD is seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating a suspect and a vehicle wanted in connection with an aggravated battery by shooting investigation.

At about 1:54 a.m. on June 4, 2023, officers were called to a shooting in the 300 block of Bourbon Street.

Upon arrival they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound he sustained during a fight with an unidentified black male.

Through investigation, detectives obtained video surveillance that identified the perpetrator as the above-pictured black male who was seen discarding a cowboy hat into a trash can as he then fled in what's believed to be a black Volkswagen Jetta (pictured).

The vehicle is described as having blacked out badging on the front and rear, dark window tint, after-market wheels and green brake calipers.  Officers also say the suspect's name may be 'Chad'.

Anyone with information about this suspect, the vehicle or this incident is asked to contact Eighth District detectives at (504) 658-6080 or Crimestoppers anonymously at (504) 822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-7867.
