The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection with the aggravated assault on a police officer this morning (May 5, 2023) in the Third District.
At around 8:23 a.m. in the 4300 block of Chef Menteur Highway, a uniformed NOPD officer was escorting a subject out of a business. When the subject reached the door, he allegedly raised his sweatshirt showing the officer a firearm in his waistband.
The subject then fled the location on a light-colored skateboard.
Through investigation, the above pictured unknown black male, wearing a dark-colored hat and sweatshirt with stone washed jeans and white shoes was identified as the perpetrator in this incident.
