NOPD Investigating Traffic Fatality in Seventh District

NOPD Investigating Traffic Fatality in Seventh District

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a Traffic Fatality that left a 34-year-old man dead. The crash occurred shortly before 8:30 A.M., at the intersection of I-10 West and Crowder Boulevard.

According to investigators, the driver of a Cadillac Escalade was traveling on Interstate 10 West at the Crowder Boulevard Exit when she rear ended the driver of a Honda Civic. That initial impact resulted in a multi car pile-up. The driver of a Kia Forte and Chevrolet Silverado crashed on the roadway and the driver of a Toyota Tacoma and Mercedes Benz were located at final rest on top of the guardrail.

Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene to render aid and transport the victims to a local hospital.

The driver of the Honda Civic was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the Cadillac Escalade is a 48-year-old woman who is listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Kia Forte is a 38-year-old woman and currently listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado is a 57-year-old man did not report any injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Tacoma is a 58-year-old woman who is currently listed in stable condition.

The driver and passenger in the Mercedes Benz SUV is a 34-year-old female and a three-year-old female who are both currently listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing. The Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
