The New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide Section is investigating a Homicide by Shooting that left an unidentified man dead an unidentified man injured. The offense occurred shortly after 10:00 A.M., at the intersection of North Rampart and St Anthony streets.
According to investigators, Fifth and Eighth District officers responded to shots fired and upon their arrival, the officers located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to their bodies. Emergency Medical Technicians transported the victims to a local hospital where one man died.
Detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the suspect(s) responsible for the Homicide and a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim and conduct and autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
