NOPD Announces Violent Crime Arrests, Clearances Between April 24-30

Listed below are arrests or clearances by warrant obtained between April 24-30, 2022, in violent crime investigations by the NOPD:

Homicide

  • On April 29, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives arrested Jason Paul Porche (pictured, white male, DOB: 09-20-1980) for second-degree murder. The arrest came in the investigation of a homicide on April 25 in the 2100 block of Julia Street.
  • On April 27, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives arrested Donell E. Barthelemy (pictured, black male, DOB: 08-19-2003) for second-degree murder. The arrest came in the investigation of a homicide incident on September 30, 2021, in the 2400 block of Ursulines Avenue.
  • On April 27, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives arrested Donell E. Barthelemy (pictured, black male, DOB: 08-19-2003) on one count of negligent homicide. The arrest came in the investigation of a homicide on April 26 in the 400 block of Burgundy Street.
  • On April 27, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives obtained an indictment against Tyrone Steele (not pictured, black male, DOB: 05-05-2003) for second-degree murder. The indictment came in the investigation of a homicide where the victim was discovered on March 21 in the 4200 block of Hamburg Street. Steele is currently in custody at the Orleans Parish Justice Center on additional charges in additional incidents.
  • On April 23, NOPD Eighth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Shawn Hubbard (aka “Smurf” or “Gremlin, pictured, white male, DOB: 04-26-1984) on a charge of attempted second-degree murder. The warrant was issued in connection with the investigation of an aggravated battery by cutting on April 19 at the intersection of Governor Nicholls Street and French Market Place. Aggravated Battery by Shooting

  • On April 27, the NOPD arrested Corey Hale (pictured, black male, DOB: 06-19-1990) for aggravated battery. The arrest was in relation to an aggravated battery by shooting incident in the 13100 block of Bishop C.L. Morton Sr. Drive on April 26.
  • On April 24, NOPD Fourth District officers arrested Evanual Davis (pictured, black male, DOB; 07-13-1998) for two counts of aggravated battery. The arrests came in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting incident on May 7, 2019, in the 3900 block of Sullen Place.

Armed Robbery /Carjacking

  • On April 25, NOPD Eighth District detectives arrested Gregory Davis (not, black male, DOB: 08-07-1986) and Dwan Harris (not pictured, black male, DOB: 01-11-1993) each on three counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted murder. The arrests came in the investigation of armed robbery incidents on April 17 in the 700 block of Girod Street and at the intersection of Frenchmen and North Rampart streets, as well as an armed robbery incident on April 18 in the 100 block of Burgundy Street that involved the attempted murder incident. As of this writing, both subjects were in custody at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
  • On April 24, NOPD Second District officers arrested a 15-year-old juvenile black male (not pictured) for armed robbery. The incident occurred on March 9 in the 5300 block of Constance Street.
  • On April 23, NOPD officers obtained an arrest warrant for Jeremiah Loving (pictured, black male, DOB: 06-17-2001) for attempted carjacking. The warrant came in the investigation of an attempted carjacking on April 10 at the intersection of Burgundy and Governor Nicholls streets. Other Significant Arrests

  • On April 25, NOPD First District officers arrested Bryan Cabrera (pictured, Hispanic male, DOB: 03-30-1996) for illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of narcotics and for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The incident occurred on April 25 in the 4000 block of Tulane Avenue. During the arrest, Cabrera was found to be in possession of a rifle, nearly three pounds of marijuana, packaging and a scale consistent with the distribution of narcotics. Cabrera was also arrested on an open warrant for a charge of domestic abuse battery (pregnant victim).
