NOPD Arrests Suspects Found in Possession of Multiple Firearms in Seventh District

The NOPD arrested Kendall Beverly (pictured, black male, DOB: 10-15-1988) and a juvenile suspect today (May 6, 2021) after a residence check by Louisiana State Probation and Parole Office led to the discovery of multiple firearms in a residence in the Seventh District.

Louisiana State Probation and Parole Office agents conducted an unscheduled residence check on Beverly’s residence in the 4500 block of Cardenas Drive. Upon entering the residence, P&P agents reported observing an extended firearm magazine inside of the residence in plain view. At that time, the agents secured the residence and informed NOPD Seventh District detectives of their observation.

Seventh District Detectives authored a search warrant for the residence and, upon obtaining and executing the warrant, discovered firearms, magazines, ammunition and other items in the bedroom of a known 15-year-old juvenile male at the location. Additionally, LSP&P agents discovered two additional firearms in other locations in the residence. Beverly was arrested for violation of parole and was also booked by NOPD detectives on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm. The juvenile suspect was arrested on illegal firearms possession charges.

Further investigation revealed the juvenile was also wanted for an auto theft incident that occurred on May 31, 2020 in the 5700 block of Lake Forest Boulevard. The juvenile was arrested and booked accordingly into the Juvenile Justice Center.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
