NOPD Investigates Fifth District Homicide

 NOPD Investigates Fifth District Homicide

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred around 6:05 p.m. on Saturday (May 23, 2020), that left one adult male deceased near the intersection of Mandeville and North Derbigny streets.

Fifth District officers were dispatched to an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
