NOPD Makes Quick Arrest of Suspect in Homicide on America Street

The NOPD has arrested Brandy Myles (DOB: 06-06-1982) in connection with the homicide of Poul Hansen on May 18, 2019 in the 4200 block of America Street.

At about 6:05 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 4200 block of America Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim lying in the street with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Upon completion of autopsy, and notification of family, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim in this incident as Hansen.

As investigation into the incident progressed, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed Myles as a suspect and obtained a warrant for her arrest on a charge of second degree murder.

Myles, who is currently in custody in Jefferson Parish on unrelated charges, has been re-booked in connection with the NOPD investigation.
