NOPD Investigating an Officers-Involved Shooting on Parc Brittany

NOPD is investigating an officers-involved shooting that took place earlier today (May 17).

 

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of an aggravated assault at a multi-unit apartment complex in the 6800 block of Parc Brittany Boulevard.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed that upon arrival three officers located the unknown armed adult male outside carrying a weapon and shots were fired. The adult male suspect was  pronounced dead on scene.

 

This incident is being investigated by the NOPD’s Public Integrity Bureau's Force Investigation Team as an officer-involved shooting. All officer-involved shooting protocols were initiated. The federal consent decree monitor and the Independent Police Monitor were duly notified and on scene. The internal investigation into this incident is underway.

 

Per NOPD standard practice, the officers involved in this incident have been reassigned to administrative duty, pending the outcome of the investigation. Pursuant to department policy, no further information on this incident will be released at this time.
