NOPD Investigates Seventh District Homicide

 NOPD Investigates Seventh District Homicide

The NOPD is investigating a Seventh District homicide that claimed the life of an adult male.

On May 3, 2019 around 1:03 a.m., Seventh District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting near the intersection of I-10 East and Bullard Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of an autopsy and notification of family. There are no additional details available at this time.
