UPDATE: Suspect Arrested for Second Degree Cruelty to a Juvenile

UPDATE: Marcel Davis surrendered to NOPD detectives at about 8 p.m. on May 14, 2018 and has been arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

ORIGINAL RELEASE: The NOPD is searching for Marcel Davis (DOB:04/03/92) for second- degree cruelty to a juvenile after an incident on April 26, 2018.

Davis is accused of scalding a 4-year-old boy, causing severe burn injuries to the child, while inside of a residence in the Seventh District. Through the course of the investigation, Child Abuse detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Davis for second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.
