NOPD Searching for Suspects, Vehicle of Interest in Shooting on Toulouse Street

The NOPD is seeking to identify and locate two suspects as well as a vehicle of interest in connection with an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred on May 19, 2018 in the 800 block of Toulouse Street.

At about 2:15 a.m., Eighth District officers responded to the location and discovered two victims, a male and a female, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment and were listed in stable condition.

Initial investigation revealed that two groups of subjects were reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation at a bar on Bourbon Street, but had relocated to the reported scene. As the groups were said to be walking away from each other, an undetermined individual from one of the groups allegedly opened fire on the other group, which then reportedly retaliated.

Upon review of evidence, detectives determined that Real Time Crime Center camera footage captured images of two suspects believed to be involved in this incident. The subject shown on the left was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, shorts and black shoes with white lining. The subject on the right was last seen wearing a plain white ball cap, a black graphic t-shirt, black jogging pants and white tennis shoes.

Additionally, Real Time Crime Center camera footage also captured footage of the pictured white vehicle – believed to be a white newer model Kia Soul. The vehicle had no license plate at the time of the incident, but was able to be tracked via footage from the Real Time Crime Center and establishments in the area after it was driven away in haste from the scene.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident, the pictured suspects and/or the pictured vehicle of interest is asked to contact Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080, or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
