On May 10, 2018, the NOPD arrested Kyren Wesley (DOB: 09-01-1998) and two juveniles (Male, DOB: 07-08-2002 and Female, 07-14-2002) in connection with possession of a vehicle reported stolen in an auto theft on the 6400 block of Derbyshire Drive.

At about 1 a.m. on May 10, a vehicle theft was reported in the 6400 block of Derbyshire Drive. Later that morning, at about 11 a.m., Seventh District officers received information that the vehicle was located near the intersection of West Laverne and Morrison Road. Officers arrived to the location, at which time four individuals exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Three of the four suspects – identified as Wesley and two juveniles – were arrested by officers in the area. The fourth suspect, described as an unknown black male, remains at large.

It was discovered that, while operating the vehicle, the subjects crashed into a mailbox in the 6300 block of Keubel Drive.

Wesley was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal possession of stolen things, resisting an officer and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The two juveniles were booked into the Juvenile Justice Center. The male juvenile – believed to have been the driver of the vehicle – was booked for illegal possession of stolen things, resisting an officer, flight from an officer, reckless operation of a vehicle and hit and run driving. The female juvenile was booked for illegal possession of stolen things and resisting an officer.

The at-large suspect is wanted for illegal possession of stolen things and resisting an officer.

Anyone with additional information on this incident, including the whereabouts of the at-large suspect, is asked to contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070 or Crimestoppers at  504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
