NOPD Arrests Suspect in Sexual Battery Incident

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad today (May 23, 2018) arrested Yazen Allibanawi (DOB: 08-12-1996) in connection with a sexual battery incident that occurred on February 17, 2018 in the 1600 block of Robert E. Lee Boulevard.

At about 5:38 p.m., Third District officers notified NOPD Special Victims Section Sex Crime Unit detectives of a reported sexual battery in the area, where a known male subject reportedly committed a sexual battery against a known female victim.

As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives were able to positively identify Allibanawi as the perpetrator and obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Allibanawi was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on a charge of sexual battery.
