NOPD Arrests Aggravated Assault Suspect During Stop on Peltier Drive

The NOPD has arrested Melvin Boudreaux (DOB: 04-20-1983) after an incident that occurred on May 11, 2018 in the 14000 block of Peltier Drive.

Just before 4 p.m., Seventh District officers patrolling in the area of the 14000 block of Peltier Drive observed Boudreaux, who was known to the officers as a wanted subject for aggravated assault. When officers attempted to stop and talk to Boudreaux, he did not comply and fled on foot, leading officers on a brief foot chase. Boudreaux was apprehended and, after a search, was found to be in possession of a handgun found to have been reported stolen out of St. Bernard Parish.

Boudreaux was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal carrying of a firearm and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact Seventh District officers at 504-658-6070.
