Suspect Arrested, Persons of Interest Sought in Aggravated Battery by Shooting on Toulouse Street

Detectives in the Eighth District have arrested Raymond Williams (DOB: 05/07/96) in connection with the aggravated battery by shooting incident that occurred on Saturday (May 19).

At about 2:15 a.m., Eighth District officers responded to the 800 block of Toulouse Street and discovered two victims, a male, and a female, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment and were listed in stable condition.

Initial investigation revealed that two groups of subjects were reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation at a bar on Bourbon Street, but had relocated to the reported scene. As the groups were walking away from each other, an undetermined individual from one of the groups allegedly opened fire on the other group, which then reportedly retaliated.

Following the review of video footage from the Real Time Crime Center, Eighth District Detectives were able to identify Williams and apprehend him on Monday with assistance from Louisiana State Police.

He was arrested and booked with illegal possession of a firearm, discharge of a dangerous instrumentality during the commission of a violent crime and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Officers also believe the persons of interest pictured below may not be from the New Orleans Metro area.  However, detectives feel they have valuable information regarding the investigation and are still wanted for questioning at this time.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident or persons of interest pictured below is asked to contact Eighth District detective at 504-658-6080. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
