VOWS Unit Apprehends Two Suspects

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit arrested two individuals wanted for aggravated assault and aggravated battery today (May 18).

 

Conisha Bee (DOB: 11/17/1987) for aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated battery, and aggravated criminal damage to property. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Desire Street in the Fifth District on May 9, 2017. Bee was apprehended in the 1500 block of Harrison Avenue in the Third District. Bee was also arrested under three additional charges: simple battery; and two fugitive warrants from Jefferson Parish for theft and receiving stolen property.

 

Tyrone Duckett (DOB: 9/9/1980) for second degree murder and attempted second degree murder. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Spain Street in the Fifth District on May 1, 2017, and Duckett was apprehended in the 1600 block of Poland Avenue. He was also arrested for Parole Violation.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible for more than 500 arrests.
