VOWS Unit Apprehends Suspects Wanted for Murder, Aggravated Assault

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit apprehended two wanted individuals today. They are wanted for charges including second degree murder, aggravated assault and domestic abuse.

 

Raekeda Wright (DOB: 4/17/1997) for second degree murder and attempted second degree murder. She was apprehended in the 4400 block of Kennon Avenue, and the incident occurred in the 1600 block of Spain Street on May 1, 2017. (Photo not available.)

 

Raju Neapollioun (DOB: 6/1/1984) for aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident occurred in the 6800 block of Morrison Road on April 4, 2017. Neapollioun was apprehended in the 2500 block of Constitution Place. He was also arrested for domestic abuse battery.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible for more than 500 arrests.
