The NOPD has identified a suspect in a shooting in the 7400 block of Alabama.
On May 17, 2017, the victim reported that Demond Smith (DOB: 5/28/1998) approached him and began firing his weapon. The victim sustained a gunshot wound, however he returned fire and struck Smith who then hobbled away from the scene.
Smith is wanted for aggravated second degree battery and illegal use of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
