NOPD Identifies Suspect in Homicide on Airline Highway

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Darryl Bannister Jr. (DOB: 09-22-1985) in connection with the homicide of Desmone Jerome that occurred on April 29, 2017 in the 9200 block of Airline Highway.

At about 11:14 p.m., Third District officers responded to a call of a male shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive 27 year-old man lying face up on the ground in a gas station pumping area, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as Jerome, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

As the investigation into the incident progressed, Homicide detectives were able to develop Bannister as a suspect in the incident

When located, Bannister will be arrested on a charge of second-degree murder.

Neither a photo nor a description of Bannister is available at this time.
