New Orleans Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident.
According to investigators, the accident occurred shortly before 10:50 a.m. today (03/20/2024) on Alvar Street near its intersection with Chickasaw Street. A 4-door sedan was moving northbound on Alvar Street when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle. The sedan collided with an 18-wheel truck which was also moving northbound on Alvar Street.
New Orleans EMS transported the adult female occupant of the sedan to hospital. The other occupant of the sedan, an adult male, was confirmed deceased at the scene of the accident. The driver of the 18-wheel truck was reportedly not seriously injured.
