The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals today (March 1, 2023) arrested Tyree Quinn (black male, DOB: 01-12-1990) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on February 20, 2023, at the intersection of North I-10 Service Road and Bundy Road.

At about 5:30 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the location, Upon their arrival, officers located a black Dodge and a white Nissan that were involved in a crash on the interstate. Two men were located inside of the black Dodge suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Technicians pronounced both men deceased on scene.

Officers located inside of the white Nissan a 35-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman and an unidentified woman. The unidentified woman had also sustained a gunshot wound in the incident. Emergency Medical Technicians transported the three victims to a local hospital.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting occurred at the intersection of the North Interstate 10 Service Road and Bundy Road, where the Dodge veered through the fence, entered onto the interstate and crashed into the Nissan. The Nissan was traveling westbound on the interstate between the Read Boulevard on-ramp and the Crowder Boulevard Exit.

On February 22, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the deceased victims as 35-year-old Andrew Stiller and 21-year-old Johnnell Hampton and determined cause of death for both victims to be from gunshot wound injuries.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Quinn as the perpetrator in this incident. An arrest warrant was then obtained on February 28 for Quinn on two counts of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Today, Quinn was located at a residence in the Seventh District, where he was arrested by VOWS officers without incident and subsequently booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
