The NOPD today (March 25, 2022) arrested Bokio B. Johnson (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-05-1975) in the investigation of a homicide on March 23, 2022, at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Providence Place that left one person dead and a second injured.

At about 9:00 A.M., NOPD Third District officers responded to a call of a shooting and upon their arrival, officers located the woman lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her body and the man was located inside of a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his head. The woman was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Johnson as a suspect in this incident.  A search warrant was obtained and executed on Johnson’s residence, where Johnson was located. After interview, Johnson was determined to be the perpetrator in this incident and was placed under arrest. He was booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will officially identify the deceased victim upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
