NOPD Seeking to Interview Person of Interest in Investigation of Homicide on Jackson Avenue

The NOPD is seeking assistance to locate, identify and interview an individual deemed a person of interest in the ongoing investigation of a homicide on February 27, 2019 in the 2900 block of Jackson Avenue.

Att around 8:20 a.m., NOPD Sixth District officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Jackson Avenue to a medical call. Upon arrival, they found an unresponsive unidentified adult male down on the ground, outside the front entrance of a church. The victim was suffering from apparent head trauma and was later pronounced dead on the scene by EMS. 

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are investigating to determine a motive and a suspect(s) in the incident. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the victim's name and the official cause of death upon completion of autopsy.

The pictured person of interest is not currently wanted regarding this investigation. However, detectives feel he has valuable information in regards to this incident and wish to question him in this regard.
