VOWS Unit, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect for Second-Degree Murder on Bundy Road

VOWS Unit, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect for Second-Degree Murder on Bundy Road

Members of the NOPD's Violent Offender Warrant Squad, along with the U.S. Marshals arrested Leander LaFrance (DOB: 03/15/97) in connection with a homicide that occurred on February 3, 2018.

At around 3:55 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in the 5100 block of Bundy Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS. 

Three days later, the victim died from his injuries at the hospital. On February 6, 2018, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified Marion Hutson as the victim and his death was ruled a homicide. 

As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives were able to develop LaFrance as the perpetrator, and he was arrested today in the 2700 block of Prentiss Street.
