NOPD Arrests Suspect in Shooting on North Rocheblave Street

Members of the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) arrested Richmond Lastie (DOB: 06-20-1997) on March 1, 2018, in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 900 block of North Rocheblave Street on December 19, 2017.

At about 9 p.m., First District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers observed an unknown black male lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. The victim was transported via New Orleans EMS to an area hospital for treatment. Another victim in this incident was also being treated at an area hospital for gunshot wounds.

During investigation, detectives were able to positively identify Lastie as the perpetrator in this incident and obtain a warrant for his arrest. Lastie was located on March 1 at a residence in the 2600 block of Ursulines Street, where he was arrested.

Lastie was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated battery by shooting.
