NOPD Arrests Juvenile Involved in Armed Robbery Incident

NOPD officers in the Seventh District arrested a juvenile suspect on Wednesday, (Feb. 28) in the 7400 block of Newcastle Street for his involvement in an armed robbery incident.

On Saturday, (Feb. 24) at or about 1 p.m., the subject robbed a victim at gunpoint outside of his residence located in the 7200 block of Culpepper Drive.

The victim told police he was going to get something out of his mother’s vehicle when he was approached by an unknown black male who demanded the victim’s car keys. The victim refused to give up the keys and the subject lifted his shirt and brandished a black firearm.

The subject reportedly threatened to shoot the victim, at which time the victim complied and gave up the keys to the vehicle and the subject entered the vehicle. The subject was later observed exiting the vehicle and fled the location on foot.

The individual was placed in a photo lineup and was identified as a suspect in this incident. The suspect was arrested for armed robbery, armed robbery with a firearm and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. He was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center where he will be booked accordingly.
