VOWS Unit Arrests Two

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit made two more arrests today.

 

Jeffery Edward Coleman (DOB: 8/31/1968) for second degree murder. Coleman was wanted in connection with the death of a 17-day-old infant. The incident occurred in the 4700 block of Lafaye Street on March 23, 2017, and he was apprehended today in the 7600 block of Arbor Drive.

 

Annie Hooper (DOB: 9/19/1961) for negligent homicide. The incident occurred in the 3000 block of Tolendano Street, on September 21, 2015, and Hooper was arrested in the 1500 block of Manhattan Boulevard in Jefferson Parish.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible from more than 500 arrests.
